SDDBF 2015 Race Results

San Diego Dragon Boat Festival 2015 Schedule

- Teams begin arriving 7 am at Festival site: Tecolote Shores North, Mission Bay Park, 1740 East Mission Bay Drive, immediately south of the Hilton
- Stake out spot for team tent, usually on grass along shoreline
- Bring canopy/tent for team, blankets, chairs, water, snacks.. Festival has great vendors!
- Team captain registers at Alliance registration tent (by blue gazebo)
- Alliance registration team checks that teams have Team Registration Form on record and paid fees
- Team captains hand in Team Roster and Waiver Forms
- Team captains issued wrist-bands for team members
- Captains' Meeting 8 am in blue gazebo

- OPEN and COLLEGE/YOUTH Division races to be run in 2 groups: 4, 3. Seeding, semi-finals, finals
- MIXED Division races to be run in 3 groups: 4,4,3. Seeding, quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals
- Random drawing at 8 am Captains' Meeting to determine placement in 1st seeding heats in each Division

- UCSD Dragon Boat coaches instruct new teams: teams request instruction by marshaling area

- Paddlers with own dragon boat paddles and Coast-Guard-approved pfds, please use own paddles and pfds
- Festival provides paddles and pfds for paddlers without own paddles and pfds: please take care of Festival equipment; return after every race

- Opening Ceremony 9 am
- Blessing of dragon boats and paddlers by Hsi Fang Temple
- Dotting of dragons' eyes to wake them so they can race
- Races begin 10 am
- Seeding, semi-finals, finals 10am-4pm
- Awards Ceremony 4 pm: Trophies and awards to top 3 teams in each Division: Open, Mixed, College/Youth
- Festival close 5 pm
- Grounds cleared by 7 pm

Notes from City of San Diego Mission Bay Park park rangers:
- No driving on turf
- No parking along red curbs
- No dogs, no beer or other alcohol
